Streetlab_ & Bis Publishers present: Street Style Memory Game

Flemish photographer Barbara Iweins has been photographing people on the streets of Amsterdam for a while. She takes an hour or two per week to go bother these beautiful human beings at the corner of her house and takes pictures of their heads and legs.

Combined, these pictures do not only make a beautiful exhibition, but also a fun and entertaining memory game.

A sortie into a curious cityscape of the future past, featuring Iris Brunette: part time traveling refugee, part compassionate voyeur. Using starkly elegant imagery, tender camaraderie and a dense and elegiac sound score, Iris delicately uncoils the remembrance of a friendship destroyed by the outbreak of war and the unfathomable demise of lost kinship and love.
A warmly mournful and disarmingly engaging piece, inspired by the film 'La Jetée' by Chris Marker.

Alleycat & Picnic on Sunday August 22
The Sur Place exhibition is coming to an end. After a great party weekend together with MeBike and Subbacultcha!, we dare you to ride the Alleycat race with us for one last time. Everybody is free to join and after the finish there is a picnic in the garden. You can visit the exhibition till August 22.

An Alleycat race is an informal bicycle race, often organized by bike messengers. To end the Sur Place exhibition in style, Mediamatic is organizing the final ikCam Alleycat competition.

KunstENhuis presenteert tentoonstelling in het kader van Open Monumentendag

In het kader van de Open Monumentendag organiseert KunstENhuis gevestigd op het Westergasfabriek terrein, van 4 t/m 12 september een tentoonstelling van fotograaf Arjen Veldt, gespecialiseerd in het fotograferen van monumenten. Daarnaast is er in de zelfde periode een expositie van kunstenares Tamara Tantico.

De fotografie van Arjen Veldt omvat een ruim oeuvre van monumenten. Speciaal voor de Open Monumentendag 2010 met als focus '19e eeuw' toont hij zijn werk van de Westergasfabriek in de Studio.
