What kind of actions have council members participated in?

24 August 2008 - Most council members have participated in a demonstration. A smaller number have also squatted or participated in a blockade or occupation. One council member says he has thrown stones.

News from Amsterdam held a survey among 65 (district) council members, asking whether politician Wijnand Duyvendak should be able to be a council member with his activist past. Respondents were also asked what actions they have participated in themselves.

Sixty-nine percent have ever participated in a demonstration, 60% have handed out pamphlets, 80% have signed a petition, 39% have participated in a boycott, 37% in a strike, 22% have squatted and 23% have participated in a blockade or occupation.

Members of GroenLinks and especially Amsterdam Anders / De Groenen (AADG) have participated in many different sorts of actions. VVD members, on the other hand, have limited experience with actions. Below, the data of the respondents who did not choose to remain anonymous are listed.
